WTF Is Fulvic Acid?

At Stories Behind Things we are always curious to learn about new wellness topics and trends. So when FLVC told us about Fulvic acid, we had to learn more! After a bit of research and a lot of reading, we are excited to share everything you need to know about Fulvic acid. Let's get to it!
Fulvic acid is known within the wellness industry as the super power compound for your overall health. is a product of decomposition and formed through geochemical and biological reactions, such as the breakdown of food in a compost heap. It can be extracted from compost, soil, and other substances to be processed into a supplement. The truth is not many people have heard of it and it's not within the mainstream industries. That’s because, historically, humans received enough fulvic acid from the foods we naturally ate.
However with the planetary changes in conventional farming and the loss of nutritional value of our soil, it’s time to bring fulvic acid into the mainstream conversation.
We sit down with FLVC, a Canadian wellness brand who specialises in organic fulvic and humic acid supplements, created by nature to support microbiome health, energy, mood and healthy glowing skin. FLVC are proudly sourced from Canadian soils and extracted with clean technology.
So back to basics, what is fulvic acid?
Fulvic acid is an organic, naturally-occurring chemical compound found in the earth’s soil, and is a bioavailable mineral essential for your overall health. It can also be found in certain foods. Foods highest in Fulvic acid will be those found growing in healthy soils such as Radishes, Beetroots, Parsnips, Carrots, Turnips, as well as foods grown in large bodies of natural water such as Seaweed and Kelp.
FLVC share that “Fulvic acid aids the body by helping us absorb and use other nutrients such as phytonutrients, fatty acids, and minerals. By improving how cells in our body use items they need to thrive, fulvic acid has been thoroughly studied for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties, among many others.” This is what got us wanting to learn more!
Created from millions of microbes decomposing plant matter. This decomposition process is crucial to creating nutrient-rich soil, and skipping this step is the reason why much of our soil is now lacking in fulvic acid and other humic substances that our bodies need.
Benefits of fulvic acid
Given its ability to both nourish and detox our cells, the benefits of fulvic acid are numerous and can impact many parts of the body. Here are three of FLVC’s favourite benefits to get you started on your fulvic acid journey.
- Improves brain function: Fulvic acid shows strong potential in promoting brain health. Research has found that fulvic acid has several antioxidant properties with the potential ability to protect against certain brain ailments, including Alzheimer’s.
- Boosts your immunity: Fulvic acid is a superstar for immune health. Research indicates it may help boost the immune system, fight inflammation, and assist with antioxidation.
- Reduces inflammation: Fulvic acid is great for reducing inflammation, which negatively impacts the immune system and is linked to many chronic diseases. Its ability to neutralize free radicals as well as detox cells helps the body restore balance and reduce inflammation and pain.
So, are you tempted to try fulvic acid? Why not give FLVC’s products a try. To make sure you’re soaking up all the nutrients you need, FLVC Tonic dissolves in water or your drink of choice (without stirring) and is perfect for maintaining overall health. And if you’re looking for some stronger detoxing, FLVC Powder is here to give your cells the extra helping hand they need.
In the words of our friends at FLVC “Drink up, ground down, grow magnificently.”
