5 Reasons Why You Need A Shampoo Bar This Season

We sat down with Lisa, Founder of Elisabeth 33 to learn more about why shampoo bars are taking over from traditional shampoo packaged in bottles. Many of you will have heard of shampoo bars, but… have you used one? We are here to tell you why you should! Shampoo bars are an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional bottled shampoo. They have several benefits over bottled shampoo, including a reduced carbon footprint, less plastic waste, and lower cost over time. Shampoo bars are packaged in a solid form and do not require plastic bottles, which can save on materials and packaging costs. Enter… Elisabeth 33!

So without further ado, here are our 5 reasons why you need a shampoo bar!

1. Less Packaging

Shampoo bars typically have less packaging compared to liquid shampoo, which means less waste going to landfills. They are also often packaged in paper or cardboard, which are more easily recyclable than plastic bottles. Bars are sold in a solid form, rather than in a liquid form that requires a plastic bottle. This eliminates the need for the plastic bottle, cap, and label, which are all components of traditional shampoo packaging. This means less waste overall, win win.

2. Longer Lasting

Longer lasting shampoo… yes please! Shampoo bars are longer lasting than traditional bottled shampoo because they are more concentrated. They are solid form, and typically last longer than an equivalent amount of liquid shampoo. This is because they don't contain any water and other ingredients that are used to dilute liquid shampoos. They also tend to be more efficient to use, as a small amount is enough to create a lot of lather, and can be used for a longer time period. Additionally, shampoo bars are easy to store, and don't have a risk of spillage or leakage like traditional liquid shampoo.

3. Kinder Ingredients

As kinder ingredients in all products is a growing demand for consumers, and shampoo bars do not disappoint. Shampoo bars are also often made with natural, biodegradable ingredients, which means they do not contribute to pollution in the same way that some synthetic ingredients found in liquid shampoos can. Elisabeth 33 bars are free of harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances that are often found in traditional bottled shampoo. Instead, Elisabeth 33 uses ingredients like essential oils along with other natural ingredients that are less harmful to the environment. On top of this, Elisabeth 33 shampoo bars are cruelty-free and vegan, avoiding animal-derived ingredients or byproducts.

4. Energy Efficient

Shampoo bars use less energy to make than traditional bottled shampoo for a few reasons. One reason is that they require less processing and formulation compared to liquid shampoo, which is often made with synthetic ingredients and preservatives that need to be mixed and heated at high temperatures. Shampoo bars are also made in smaller batches, requiring less energy to heat and mix the ingredients. Additionally, the solid form of shampoo bar eliminates the need for packaging and shipping large quantities of liquid shampoo, which can be energy-intensive. Overall, shampoo bars have a smaller environmental impact compared to traditional liquid shampoo due to less waste, more efficient use of resources, and natural, biodegradable ingredients.

5. Cost Effective

Shampoo bars last longer than traditional bottled shampoo because they are more concentrated. They do not contain water or other diluting ingredients that are found in liquid shampoo which means that less product is needed per use, which can result in cost savings over time. Additionally, because shampoo bars do not require packaging such as plastic bottles, caps, and labels, they can save on materials and packaging costs. Furthermore, they are often sold in bulk which can result in even more cost savings.
