Description

Meet the iconic friendship bracelet.

Each of the different coloured bands represents one of the UN's 17 Global Goals. They are made in Nepal from Ocean Plastic. 1 kg of plastic is removed from marine environments whenever you buy a band. The clasp is made from decommissioned illegal firearms from Central America, proceeds of which help combat gun violence.

  • 100% Parley Ocean Plastic® rope
  • Clasp made from recycled decommissioned illegal firearms; plated with precious metals
  • Supporting artisan employment in Nepal
  • Adjustable strap
Why we love it

The community support that these products give is never ending, communities in Costa Rica collect the coastal and marine plastic that is used in our thread, while Nepalese artisans work to assemble the finished bands. They provide support to local communities and economies every step of the way.

Everyone has their goals in life, but what if the planet came together to work towards the same ones? This is the thinking behind the 17 Global Goals created by the United Nations to achieve a more sustainable world by 2030. With the power to end poverty, battle inequality and paralyse global warming, the goals will build a more responsible, just and peaceful future for everyone. Whether you pick the issue that is closest to your heart or get involved in all 17, join them in spreading the word.

  • The #TOGETHERWEAR is made in India. The facility is regularly audited and powered by green renewable energy that is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation which works to improve labour conditions for garment workers all over the world.

When we think about mindful consumption, cost per use is a way of evaluating whether or not your purchase is sustainable or not. Asking questions like “will I use/wear this piece more than 30 times?” “Will I fix it when it breaks?” “When I’ve finished using it, will I extent the lifespan of the item by giving it to someone I know/charity?” All of these actions will decrease the overall carbon footprint of your purchase.

How do you work out the cost per use? Divide the price of the product by 30! We use 30 as this is the average amount of uses items are thought to have.

#TOGETHERBAND work with grassroots organisations such as ROKPA who manufacture #TOGETHERBANDs for the brand. ROKPA rescue women who were previously identified as being trafficked. Every artisan they employ through ROKPA are paid 45% higher than the national industry average.
