Meet the Iriki Necklace

Inspired by childhood memories spent exploring the Greek islands. Quartz, frosted azure blue glass and delicate pearl drops form the Iriki necklace.

Length: 48cm

Materials - 18ct gold vermeil | Freshwater baroque pearls | Quartz | Frosted glass beads

Why We Love It

The inspiration behind each design comes from Daphne’s visits to her mother’s home country; Greece, and the summers spent snorkelling in the turquoise waters, and collecting shells and pebbles from beaches in the Aegean and Ionian Islands.

Each piece is handmade to order in our London studio, reducing waste and over production. Materials are sourced within the UK where possible, and where not possible we search for materials with the fewest miles travelled.

Gold - Pebble & Loop work with a family run Jeweller in Jaipur India, specialising in hand made and finished gold findings. Pebble & Loop's findings are 18ct Gold vermeil, which has a base of sterling silver, and is finished with an anti-tarnish to extend durability and longevity.

Pearls - Pebble & Loop source their pearls from one of the UKs leading gemstone suppliers, a family-owned business with 15 years’ experience. The owners’ family heritage lies in the far east, with established and ethical supplier relationships in Thailand, India and Sri Lanka.  Certifications: Pearl Specialist accreditation from the International Gem Society, and Pro Member of the International Gem Society.

Packaging - All Pebble & Loop packaging is plastic-free, recyclable and reusable. Pebble & Loop proudly source 100% linen bags which are handmade by a seamstress in Cornwall, and hand dyed silk ribbon from a small UK based company.

When we think about mindful consumption, cost per use is a way of evaluating whether or not your purchase is sustainable or not. Asking questions like “will I use/wear this piece more than 30 times?” “Will I fix it when it breaks?” “When I’ve finished using it, will I extent the lifespan of the item by giving it to someone I know/charity?” All of these actions will decrease the overall carbon footprint of your purchase.

How do you work out the cost per use? Divide the price of the product by 30! We use 30 as this is the average amount of uses items are thought to have.

“I love pearls, but I don’t love the traditional pearl necklace. I felt there was a lack of unique, handmade and mindfully made designs on the market- I wanted to plug this gap, and create pieces that had a contemporary twist, while also being classic pieces to keep for years.” - Founder Daphne
